Celestial King is an urban fantasy visual novel set within the military ranks of Egypt.

Lance Corporal Jinx Badawi, a soldier in the Egyptian Armed Forces, becomes the Celestial Holder of the Zodiac after touching a powerful quartzite stone during guard duty. The stone transfers its immense power to him, but his young age makes it difficult for him to control such power. As a result, eleven of the Zodiac Signs escape from him and scatter throughout Egypt. Only Virgo remains as it is his own Zodiac sign. Jinx must retrieve the other lost signs. Colonel Ramona Ellis Davis spares him from execution on one condition: recover all of the Zodiac signs or face severe consequences.

 Future Roadmap

PROTOTYPE NOTICE: This current build is a pure, story-focused gameplay prototype created entirely for the game jam. This version does not contain backgrounds. It is a proof-of-concept featuring our prototype UI, soundscapes, items, sprites, CGs, and the thunbmail.

After the jam concludes, Celestial King is expanding into its final form! We are moving production into Unreal Engine to transform this foundation into the first chapter, 2.5D RPG + Story-Driven Visual Novel experience. The entire world and backgrounds will be built in full 3D, replacing the lack of backgrounds in this prototype.

The 2D character style is staying, but you will physically walk around, explore, and investigate the 3D environments.

All of our assets including sounds, items, and the UI work will carry right over into the Unreal Engine build!
